Hello, My name is Roy A. Blankenship. I am a professional therapist in the Kennesaw, Georgia area. I have a 25 year history of building treatment services and programs while offering professional counseling and therapy to persons impacted by addiction (alcohol, drugs, sex, etc.), trauma, and abuse. I also specialize in helping people achieve sexual health. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I also provide clinical supervision for people pursuing their license in professional counseling (LPC) in State of Georgia. I addition, I provide clinical supervision for candidates pursuing their credential as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).
My Approach
In working with individuals, I am a Psychodynamically oriented professional clinician with an Attachment Theory foundation. However, because I believe that all persons are individuals that develop and mature from infancy while gaining life experiences and relationship skills along the way, usually in a family context, Systemic Theory and Family Theory influences how I approach the conceptualization of problems people face in life. Finally, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR Therapy, Ego State Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Addiction Recovery Therapy in helping people achieve their personal life and relationship goals.

My Story
My whole life has been a personal journey searching for ways to understand myself, God, and the world in which I live. I am so grateful for the thousands of people that have worked with me professionally over the years. These precious ones have been teachers in my own life as they privileged me with the opportunity to help them in their own life journey.
